Now, the first two levels of the Mountain King puzzle were fairly straight
forward, but the third level is really annoying me. There are all sorts
of clues, but I just can't seem to quite put it all together.
SPOILER SPACE

Ok, I have figured out that the weather vane controls what direction the
treasures go. However, I'm not understanding the side effects. For
example, if I put something in the torus, and turn the vane to the
southeast, it will not only pull whatever's in the torus to the southeast,
but it drags an object from the northwest as well. Yet, there are other
times when it doesn't do this. Also, where do objects go when you point
the vane at a wall? The clues just aren't making any sense. For example,
the walls change colors and I don't understand why. The east wall says
"swen swap." Does that mean that you swap south with west and east with
north, or does it mean southwest with east and north, or what? Why does
the south wall say "twenty-one treasures?" I don't see that many. Also,
the writing on the south wall on the walls sometimes becomes too faint to
read. What causes this? I just don't get it!

As an aside, has anybody read the record in the platinum room? That
provides a little comic relief.
