Since we're talking about netiquette here, let's have a pop quiz.
Someone posts to newsgroup on-topic, politely, but excessively.  You:

a)  Send him a personal email suggesting he lighten up, then only
escalate to a public chastisement if it doesn't work.
b)  Immediately go for the public chastisement because, hey, you are the
internet god and it is your righteous domain to chastise lesser beings
c)  Go right for a nasty personal attack, belittling everything the
person says or does.

In this thread, I wonder how many of those employing B&C first tried A?

Note: In C, I'm referring to Yuter, not Cadre.  I didn't like the tone
of Cadre's post, but it was on-topic and pertinent.
