Well, here I was thinking my little game was going to be lucky to reach
mid-field when Adam Cadre informed me I was the only one that got
his/her entry in to his Spring Thing comp.

I feel badly for Adam, as I know he put a fair amount of effort into
this competition. As such, I've requested that he take my prize money
and buy himself a nice steak dinner with a bottle of decent Cabernet or
Shiraz, and forget about the whole thing. Or he may wish to donate it to
the Old IF'ers home, or some other worthy charity, if he so wishes.

Which leads me to this announcement of the release of my on-going work
in progress for the past many years, TINSELTOWN BLUES:

As an aspiring young screenwriter, you're all too familiar with Jack
Warner's derogatory appellation about your profession: that a writer is
just a schmuck with an Underwood. Determined to prove yourself more than
that, you finally finagled an appointment with that legendary television
producer, Irving M. Sowritch. You arrive at the gates of Paramount
Studios with your epic seven-part miniseries on the life of Walter
Mondale (entitle "Fritz, We Hardly Knew Ye") tucked away in your
knapsack. Brimming with anticipation, certain that the great producer
will love your work and open the doorways to success, you step onto the lot...

....and into a nightmare.

TINSELTOWN BLUES is a light-hearted puzzle-fest in the same vein as the
early Infocom treasure hunts I hungrily devoured so many years ago.
Thanks to Adam, it has finally emerged from the dark recesses of many
different hard drives over the years and into the light of the ifarchive
incoming directory. Enjoy.
