"Jigsaw knot", declared John J from the Vogon ship:

JJ>OK, so it isn't much of a knot, but please untangle it (a little bit),
JJ>someone. I've fiddled with the clock and the time-machine (presumably)
JJ>but it won't go. Have I missed something outside the monument, or is it
JJ>just stupid me that can't figure out what to do with them?
JJ>I have got, let me see ... a pencil and sketchbook (I've drawn the
JJ>night-jar, not sure why), the device & clock, rucksack, key, two jigsaw
JJ>pieces ... I think that's about that.

What are you thinking of by "time machine"? Sounds like you might not have
actually found the *real* time machine, because if you did, it would be very
obvious what to do with the two jigsaw pieces - so you're missing something...

Have you cleaned off the table to find the jigsaw board?
