Hey folks, I'm winding up work on WinFrotz 2.0 - a fully window'd Win32 version
of Frotz, with variable fonts, resizing, and all the kind of stuff you'd expect
a Windows app to do. The only major piece I plan to implement that isn't in
right now is V6 graphics games, but the foundation is there for all of them.

What I need is a few people who are playing through some IF games now and don't
mind testing this version out for me (remember the motto: save early, save
often). There will be a few rough edges, but any non-graphical game should
be playable - although you can do silly things with fonts that might confuse
the display itself. There won't be docs with the test version (haven't written
the help file yet) but if you're familiar with Frotz, all the keys work, even
the let's-pretranslate-because-windows-eats-all-alt-commands alt keys. I have
played through several games to their ending but be aware there MAY be game
stopping bugs somewhere - I don't believe so, but I gotta warn you up front.

What you need: Win95 or WinNT 3.51+. Fingers to type with. Desire to
experiment. Patience to not get ballistic if experiments go wrong.

If you want to help me out with this e-mail me using rich@kesmai.com. I will
soon be updating the WinFrotz pages at www.cris.com/~Twist/WinFrotz with more
info for those that don't want to test. My aim is to have a first release
QUICKLY as in a week or so. There will be a simultaneous update of WinFrotz 1.X
(the console version) to fix a couple of small bugs.
